Who can use the Help to Buy: Equity Loan?

The current Help To Buy scheme is available for first-time buyers and existing homeowners, here’s how it works:

You need just a 5% deposit to purchase a property and the Government will then lend you 20% of the property value via the Help to Buy scheme. You will then need to find a mortgage for the remaining 75%.

What’s more, you won’t be charged interest on the 20% loan for the first five years of owning your home.
