New Collection of Homes for Kirklees

Work has begun to transform a green field site in Huddersfield into a bespoke £4m collection of family homes.

No fewer than five of the 13 hand-crafted homes on the flagship development off Mill Moor Road in Meltham - a cul-de-sac known as Willow Reach - have already been reserved ahead of a Christmas move-in, underlining the village’s growing appeal as a place to live and work.

They are being brought to life by Yorkshire developers Berkeley DeVeer, with asking prices for the remaining properties ranging between £210,000 for a three-bedroom mews, to £425,000 for a four-bedroom detached.

A 50% contribution towards stamp duty fees is available on selected plots. Some of the available homes will ready to move in before the end of the year if reserved now, while the remainder will be completed by next summer

All are available with financial support through the Government’s Help to Buy scheme, an initiative which is helping housebuyers in East Lancashire to move on to, or up, the property ladder in ever-increasing numbers. As part of the scheme, house purchases at Willow Reach only require a 5% deposit. It offers homebuyers a 20% equity loan from the Government, which is interest-free for five years.

“It’s often overlooked that Help to Buy is not just for first-time buyers – it opens the doors to established homeowners too who have since sold their own properties,” said Dan Newett, managing director of Berkeley DeVeer. Willow Reach offers a family of homes tailored to meet the needs of a growing local community, particularly the demand for new-build properties. Many are tailored with first-time buyers in mind to meet the needs of the local community, while others offer spacious family homes.”

The development is ideal for those who want to relax with countryside living whilst being in short travelling distance from growing major cities, situated just 19 miles from both Leeds and Manchester, and with Sheffield only 21 miles away. With a strong local community and the countryside right on its doorstep, Willow Reach is a desirable location for those looking for a commuter base or those wanting their own slice of village living.

Dan added said: “We may be a new name to the district but we have a long history in the craftsmanship of new homes.

“In fact, we bring to Meltham a proven track record of more than 25 years’ expertise, during which time we have achieved the milestone of building over 1,000 properties We are delighted that bringing our latest development to life has equipped us with the ideal launchpad for creating our next 1,000 homes.”
